These are some good options but don't agree fully with F-1 strategy. For F-1 u have to show non immigrant intent. So u can delay ur marriage registeration. I think it is better if he applies for F-1 without disclosing that he is married.

1. Bring him to USA on F-1. With a good GRE, TOEFL score, an admit from a good university and a true passion to do M.S. will help get a F-1 Visa. Also, your friend can pay for his first semester fees, which will also help to build a strong F-1 case.
2. Look for a job for him in a public/non-profit organization where you don�t have a lot of H-1 restrictions. Ask him to build up his skill set and be prepared to do any kind of employment.
3. I am not too familiar with "Follow-to-join" process, but that might be an option. ***May not be applicable, but just a thought***
4. Like someone mentioned, both of you relocate to Canada, where its easier to get Perm residency.
5. Ask her to apply for Citizenship whenever she is eligible, so that, its much easier to bring the spouse in. ***Might take a few years, but it still is an option***

Most of key politicians recognize the need to reform immigration practices in general and skilled immigration rules in particular - but immigration is an emotional issue and congress has complicated rules for anyone who want to scuttle even a small change. Hope some bill is in the works that give us some relief without raising too much opposition.

I might have been doing much better there. But I am at the point where I cannot let got without trying. Have you reached that point yet?

I'm sick and tired of them predicting what's about to happen must happen by the rule of economics. But I tune in nonetheless every day when I drive to work.:D

You have to wait until your priority date becomes current to apply your dependent's 485. And for that she needs to be in US and for this you need to have valid H1 so that she can get H4 if she is already not in US and doesn't have any VISA.
If you don't have H1 and she can't come unless she can come on H1 (herself) or Business VISA.
For some reason, if she couldn't land in USA before your GC approval, but if got married before the GC Approval, then you should submit one form(I am not sure which one some on 800 series).
I think it is not quite correct. The dependent should be able to do consular processing if she is not in US.

The Federal government is about to start knocking on the doors of employers, demanding to see I-9 records and more. thanks for the update and analysis. But My 140 is approved in less than 20 days.. I donot work for MNC. Work for an American owned Company. Not sure, how much time it would take to reach 10/05 priority date for eb2.

It is difficult to pull the 140 stats for the same labour. But I did a rough data extract from immigration.com based on what folks have mentioned, it seems like 140 is taking 8 months average presently, RFEs are in 40 % of cases, and also approved 140 seems to be like around 2000 in total for EB2, and EB3 categories for 2005 filings.. which means large numbers are still pending in Texas or Folks have not updated their data.
One thing that emerges clear from the data pattern :
Presently EB2 turn around time for Perm is approx 26 days, EB3 is 41 days average.
140 for EB2 from a MNC = 6 months, 140 for EB2 from a small company 8 months avg.

Lease papers & Insurance sounds like a good idea along with joint tax return. They ask for a lot of things as supporting documents, but provide an itty.. bitty.. envelope to mail the same along with the RFE letter.
One thing that concerns me is that these documents support the marital status but I do not know why they say as stated in the instructions for I-485. This throws me off track, because for I-485 spouse we have to send another whole list of documents, such as finance docs, affidavit of support etc. I can send them as well, but I don't want the USCIS officer reviewing the RFE response to miscontrue it as I'm almost applying for a derivative I-485 for my spouse when my PD is not current.

The idea here is to for the individual to hold the miles ( atleast the minimum required) to get a free ticket and the individual book the ticket for some one who would use it. Transferring of miles from one account to another has a lot of overhead attached to it and is not cost effective.
I have complied a list of people who pledged and will contact them when we will need the miles for travel/ticketing.

This (consideration) may not be widely known but it is not new. I posted a link about a week ago about the senate testimony by a leading law firm (invited witness/expert) on this subject.
From all the discussion above, it's clear bigoted minuteman types who came up with this brilliant tactic of pushing point based system to delay and deny any type of immigration reform this year are winning rhetorical victory.
Guyz.. please just SHUT UP.. No point in fighting with each other..

My husband and I are July 2 Neb transfer to TX and we got approval email on 8/1. PD is 2005 Dec.
Does your receipt number starts with SRC#? I don't see any non SRC# approvals so far at TSC. Please share your PD also.
